Getting to the Student Information Day
ON Friday 13th March 2009
COMING BY CAR & BUS
From Melbourne
Avalon is about 55kms along the Princes Freeway from the West Gate Bridge.
From Tullamarine Airport
Take the Tullamarine Freeway to the Western Ring Road and then travel west along the Princes Freeway towards Geelong.
From Avalon Airport (Jetstar Terminal)
An internal transport service will be available to carry passengers from the Avalon Jetstar terminal to the Airshow site.
From Geelong
Avalon is about 18kms along the Princes Freeway. Signs will direct you to the turn off and ample parking is available.

From other locations in Victoria
Patrons travelling by V/Line from other locations in regional Victoria pay the applicable fare to Lara, plus the cost of the shuttle bus fare between Lara and Avalon.
V/Line tickets to Avalon during the Airshow are available for purchase from:

- V/Line Call centre – 136 196
- Premium metropolitan stations
Parking
Bus:
Follow signage for buses from the highway to the designated parking areas.
Car:
Follow signage that says Airshow “P” from the highway.
Parking is free of charge for both Buses and Cars on Thursday 12th March and Friday 13th March before 2.00pm.
Security:
Every person attending the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence exposition will need to go through a security checkpoint. Security checkpoints will be open from 8.30 am.
Registration
Registration opens from 8.30 - 9.30
When on site and after you go through security look for signage with the below logo on it directing you to the Careers & Skills Registration marquee.
The registration process is as follows:
- Make your way to the Careers and Skills registration marquee
- The teacher responsible for their group to show photo id to the staff at the registration marquee
- The staff will mark your name off the list and hand you your entry pass
- Our staff will direct you to where you will enter the Airshow site
- The teacher in charge will be handed an envelope with all the passes for their group and they are responsible for their distribution

The entry will not be open until 9.00am. However it is important that you are registered and inline to go through the entry gate as the Student Information Day will commence at 9.30. Bare in mind over 500 people to register and be seated by 9.30am.

Once inside the Main gate again follow the signage with the below information

Refreshments
Morning tea and lunch will be provided and served in the Auditorium
For any one with special dietary requirements you will need to consider bringing your own refreshments.
Lunch will include a roll, piece of cake, chocolate bar and a drink.
Some packs will cater for vegetarian diners

After 1500 at the conclusion of the Student Information Day program attendees are more than welcome to stay and enjoy the exhibition and any of the many other wonderful experience of the Airshow.

Teachers: Appropriate (informal summer) business attire is required.
Students: School Uniform
No Smoking:
Smoking is not permitted inside any structure.
