Engine Starting
At Avalon Main, engine starting is not permitted without:

  1. Clearance from the Organiser’s marshal attending the aircraft;
  2. The aircraft’s crew chief – where applicable; and
  3. Radio contact with Airshow Ground on the “Apron Frequency”

At Avalon East, engine starting procedure is to follow normal starting procedures but especial care is to be taken to ensure persons on the movement area are well clear.

Engine Run-ups
Maintenance engine run-ups are to be conducted in the area previously designated by Avalon 2009 ground operations personnel.

Pre-takeoff engine run-ups are to be conducted in the area designated by Air Traffic Control; for runway 18L/36R expect at the holding point or on the runway, for runway 18R/36L expect the run-up area west of runway 18L/36R.
