Avalon East (YAVE) is a temporary unlicensed aircraft landing area (ALA) located approximately 2000 metres east of Avalon Main (YMAV) RWY 18L/36R (and outside the Avalon Airport boundary).

YAVE has two 1000 metre by 28 metre parallel grass runways, orientated north/south, associated taxiways and parking area.

Airservices Australia provides an Air Traffic Control Service (GAAP-type procedures) and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Service capability.

YAVE will be available for day only, VFR fixed-wing operations from Tuesday 10th to Sunday 15th March 2009.

Arrivals and Departures are essentially unrestricted except they MUST be in daylight only. Arrival and Departure procedures are detailed in the Airshow 2009 AIPSUP.

There is ample parking (overnight is permitted); no landing or other charges apply and a (free) shuttle bus service will be available to transport aircraft occupants to and from the main Airshow site.

AVGAS refueling is available during specified periods.
