The Australian International Airshow is conducted at Avalon Airport (YMAV).

For Airshow 2009, Avalon Airport may be referred to as Avalon Main and will have two available runways:

  • 18L/36R – a sealed runway 3048 metres in length
  • 18R/36L – a parallel 1400 metre by 30 metre grass runway (primarily for GA light aircraft) and associated taxiways located 800 metres west of 18L/36R (to facilitate simultaneous VFR arrivals and departures when 18L/36R is in use).

Access to Avalon Main will normally be restricted to participating (static and flying) display aircraft and large (or high-performance) aircraft.

A helipad complex (containing two helipads and adjacent parking area) will be located east of the Exposition site (approx. 600 metres from 18L/36R). See the AIPSUP for more detail.

All arrivals and departures to the Avalon Main runways require pre-registration
(see pilot information).
