Ground Support Equipment
Limited GSE resources will be available at Avalon. Therefore, operators should plan to be self-sufficient and preposition both normal aircraft ground support equipment (AGSE) and specialist requirements. While assistance will be provided where available, pilots should also make provision for being entirely self-supporting at Avalon with regard to maintenance personnel, radio servicing, maintenance equipment, ground starting equipment and emergency equipment (such as slings and towing bridles).

Towing
Since most aircraft will be unable to taxi directly into their display or parking position, Operators/Pilots must provide a tow-bar (or tow cable where applicable) or nose/tail wheel steering bar/arms for ground handling of their aircraft. Additionally, operators/pilots are expected to provide any special connections or adaptors as well as wheel chocks.

Pilots are responsible for connecting and disconnecting tow-bars to their aircraft. A member of the aircraft operating crew (pilot, ground crew) will be required to be in the cockpit to operate the aircraft brakes, should they be required, during any towing operation.

Note: For other than military aircraft, tow motors will only be operated by appropriately trained Airshow tarmac team personnel.

AGSE
AGSE such as mobile power units can only be provided for short periods; ie, for engine starting and minor rectifications. Pilots are required to make separate arrangements with the Organiser where external power and associated AGSE is required for extended periods (such as air conditioning).

Tying Down and Securing Aircraft
All aircraft below 3000Kg MTOW must be tied down, wheels chocked and control locks fitted during all static display periods and/or when the aircraft is unoccupied.  All tie-down equipments, chocks and control locks are to be provided by the operator/pilot.

For aircraft above 3000Kg MTOW, wheels are to be chocked and control locks engaged during all static display periods and/or when the aircraft is unoccupied.
