TRAVEL TO THE AIRSHOW
Avalon Airport is situated on the Princess Freeway, between Melbourne and Geelong. The site is well marked and access is easy.
BY CAR
- From Melbourne
Avalon is about 55kms along the Princes Freeway from the West Gate Bridge.
- From Tullamarine Airport
Take the Tullamarine Freeway to the Western Ring Road and then travel west along the Princes Freeway towards Geelong.
- From Geelong
Avalon is about 18kms along the Princes Freeway. Signs will direct you to the turn off and ample parking is available.

Jetstar operate regular scheduled flights into Avalon.

An internal transport service will be available to carry passengers from the Avalon Terminal to the Airshow Entrance.
For those passengers arriving at Tullamarine Airport there is no direct service to Avalon Airport. Patrons will need to catch an airport bus from Tullamarine to either Geelong or Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. These services are provided by Gull Bus (Tullamarine – Geelong – www.gull.com.au for SITA Coaches (Tullamarine-Melbourne) or Melbourne to Avalon Airport www.sitacoaches.com.au
Public Days:
For those patrons coming from Melbourne, you can catch a VLine train from Southern Cross Station (Spencer Street) to Lara Station. A free shuttle bus operates from Lara Station to the Airshow Entrance.
CHARTER AIRCRAFT
Due to the additional numbers of scheduled Regular Passenger Transport aircraft and the large number of aircraft on static display to support the two main themes of the Airshow, Charter Operations to Avalon Airport will be severely restricted between 1- 6 March 2011. Please refer to our website
GENERAL AVIATION AND RECREATIONAL AIRCRAFT All General Aviation and Recreational Aircraft visitors to Avalon 2011 will operate from Avalon East only – please refer to the Avalon East page for details.

The events calendar in March is a busy time with several major sporting and cultural events attracting both interstate and international visitors to Victoria.

CAMPSITE
A special airshow campsite in nearby Lara provides a place to stay during the Airshow.
Bring your own tent, caravan or campervan and enjoy the convenience of our free shuttle bus service to and from the Airshow site. The campsite will be open from Friday 6 March to Monday 16 March 2009.
All sites at the Airshow are unpowered and the use of BBQs, gas lanterns, generators and naked flame is not permitted. We can cater for tents, caravans or campervans and showers, toilets and catering facilities are also provided for your convenience.
